LIONS
words inspired by the poem of W.H. Auden
time will say nothing – but i told you so;
if i could tell you – i would let you know
if we should weep when clowns put on their show
if i could tell you – i would let you know
the winds must come from somewhere – when they blow
if i could tell you – i would let you know
there must be reasons why the leaves decay
if i could tell you – i would let you know
the lions all get up and go – will time say nothing, but i told you so
the lions all get up and go – if i could tell you, i would let you know
perhabs the roses really wants to grow
if i could tell you – i would let you know
there are no fortunes to be told although
if i could tell you – i would let you know
LOVERS
dedicated to my beloved cheetah
same old story; i’m stuck in time
but nothing heals me; like you do
time and fever; will burn away
on such a day of sweetness show
soul and body have no bounds;
to lovers as they lie upon;
not a whisper, not a thought;
not a kiss nor look will be lost;
‹til journey ends
all my past life; is mine no more
those images are; kept in a store
and far thee well now; my only love
nothing less now; can ease my heart
OUT OF TUNE
you throw dust into your own eyes
and you’re digging in the dirt
you’re sick of all that lies – and that idle talk
you’re tired of yourself
while your days turn into nights;
you eat your daily soup and you choking it down
have one over eight; somehow now and then
steal a bloody car – get the fuck out of this place
won’t you gain ground – won’t you get away
why don’t you take that silly little screen out of your face?
you would look so much better
you would look much less stupid
why don’t you take that silly little screen out of your face?
you would look so much better
you would look much more human
get back in your pants – gather yourself
you read storys that no’one did wrote
and you chatter like a magpie
you like, you tag, you share – has the cat got your tongue?
you stagger toward the abyss
and you walk like a remote robot
you danced to everyone’s tune – but you’re still out of tune
GRACE
if you struggle and fail – and it seems that there is no more light
only darkness surrounding you
it you’re out of luck – and it seems your heart is full of grief
thinking of the days long gone
there will still be a place –
where you might sit down
and find some little grace
there will still come some days –
where sunlight touches you
and wipe tears away
there will still come some nights –
of cloudless climes and starry skies
there will still be a friend –
who really takes care
and lend you a helping hand
